"Family From Afar"
For the family who lives far from their aging or ill loved one, I can be a set of on-the-ground eyes and ears who checks in on a regular basis to assess safety and needs. I can also attend medical appointments and send reports to you, with the consent of your loved one. We can check in by Zoom or phone at the cadence you choose. Requires signed consent from the loved one living in Dane County.

Your medical benefits, explanations of benefits, detailed bills of service

Help apply for Social Security Disability
-
Help apply for other services as needed
Death Doula
Getting older or being diagnosed with a serious illness requires that you think about what you might want your final days to look like and how you want to be supported during that time. It's also a good time to give your family the gift of ready-made funeral plans.

Let me help you:
-
Understand normal signs and symptoms of the approach of the end of life
-
Think through and document what you want your own end of life experience to look like
-
Choose and label special items you want passed along to your loved ones
-
Think through your options for the final disposition of your body
-
Understand funeral options prior to meeting with a funeral home (I'm also happy to go to the funeral home with you)
-
Choose readings and music for a funeral or memorial service
-
Write an obituary and choose where that will be displayed/published
-
Decide what happens with your social media and email accounts
-
Get your “death dossier” of paperwork and passwords together
-
Talk through advance care planning and “go wish” type scenarios
-
Plan and execute a "legacy" project including, writings, photos, video or other media for your family to treasure for years to come - share your wisdom, advice and wishes for them for after you are no longer physically with them
Active Listening & Problem Solving
Sometimes it helps just to have someone to talk to. I can provide an active listening and coaching session when you need someone to hear you and reflect your needs back to you. I have "heard it all" and will keep your session completely confidential (though would be mandated to report if you express a wish to harm yourself or others).
Reiki Session
I am a Reiki Master, trained in channeling this divine energy. Reiki treatments can enhance your sense of well-being and comfort.
